Afternoon all and welcome to Friday’s Ships Blog. Breezy weekend on the way thanks to the remnants of Hurricane Alex which will track north of Scotland over the next 24 hours. Winds are forecast south westerly in Harwich, up to force 6 on Saturday and moderating on Sunday with the direction more westerly. Despite this we have plenty of visitor bookings over the weekend with the East Anglian Sailing Trust coming to us on Sunday with the Northern rivers Club arriving on Monday as part of their annual cruise. This weekends lockmasters are Andy Howard(days) and Richard Whitby(nights). The Pinmill Sailing Club 60th Barge Match takes place on Saturday 9th July with the first boats starting from Buttermans Bay at 10.00. Finally a big thankyou from our retiring Lockmaster Mark Taylor to all those berth holders who generously contributed to his collection. He was giving an appropriate send off at the Shotley Sailing club on the weekend of 28th May. Happy retirement Mark!
