Afternoon and welcome to the first September Ships Blog. August has certainly been a mixed bag of weather. Lets hope we have something a little more settled during September. The berth holders BBQ last weekend was a big success and a big thank you goes to all the Shipwreck staff who helped out during the evening as well as Keith, Peter, and Mim who did sterling work on the actual BBQs keeping the food rolling out for everyone. Thanks also to Nick Bartlett and the Next Generation Caribbean Steel who provided some great music despite the somewhat cool conditions. Finally thanks goes to the Shotley Point Yacht club in helping make it such a successful event. However the jury is still out on some of the brightly coloured shirts that were being worn by members of the club!! We of course hope to make this an annual event maybe with some warmer weather.
