Ships Blog 11/2/2014

Morning all and welcome to a wet and very windy Ships Blog. Blowing around 25 to 30 knots at times from the south west.  Temperatures are around 2 to 3 degrees Celsius with the wind chill. Currently in the middle of lock closure with the lads down the ‘hole’ today in some pretty grim conditions. All the hydraulics are being serviced along with five hydraulic rams also being serviced. We have repaired some of the steelwork supporting the walk way on the inner gates. This  was overdue after a number of boats over recent years had made unintentional contact with the gates! It is still our intention to be open this Friday for normal operation.
