Welcome to Friday’s Ships Blog. View from the Control Tower is over a fairly dull and grey Harwich Harbour. One bonus is that the wind has now dropped from the gales we have had for the last two days. The gale bound barges have now left the bay opposite the marina and have made their way up the river Orwell. Forecast for the weekend is dry with some sunshine for Saturday with the possibility of the odd shower on Sunday. Winds are staying light and from the south west. Things happening this weekend are a 505 open meeting at Shotley Sailing Club and the Pinmill Smack and Bawley Races on Saturday the 12th. So if you not yachting this weekend then you will have something to watch! Today’s picture is taken looking up the river Orwell one misty morning while Ships Blog was on their way to work!
