Ships Blog 13/6/14

Morning all and welcome to the Ships Blog – Friday 13th, beware of setting sail on a new passage today! That’s the old sea salts warning about sailing on this day. Weather again very warm here at Shotley marina and mirror smooth in the harbour. Forecast for the weekend pretty good although perhaps a couple of degrees cooler. Here is the general forecast for next week from Weatheronline:

‘High pressure is going to be dominating the weather through the coming week. Centred to the west of Scotland it will be bringing lots of dry weather, with the best and warmest conditions in the west. More eastern and southern areas sees some cloud and a few spots of rain here and there during the mornings. Cooler on eastern coasts, with a stiff northeast wind at times.’

Lads very busy in the yard today with lifts and launches ready for the weekend. Note for the diary, the Ajax East Coast Championships takes place on the weekend of June 20th to the 22nd, should be fun watching them all go for the lock at the same time! Finally in the harbour we have a big E class Maersk container ship ‘Eugen’ berthed on Trinity 7.  Have a good weekend.
