Ships Blog 17/7/2014

Morning and welcome to Thursday’s Ships Blog. Weather fabulous at the moment, bright sunshine and a light sea breeze building already. Forecast looking very warm tomorrow although there may be a risk of some thundery showers on Saturday. Met office are expressing some uncertainty as to where these will develop over the country. Yesterday we welcomed Woodbridge Cruising Club on one of their annual cruises going south. They have locked out already this morning and then this afternoon we welcome KYCN club from Nieuwpoort. This evening we are holding a Boules match with the boats from Nieuwpoort, England versus Belgium! On another note there are two notices to mariners from Harwich Haven Authority that are of interest. Notice No 24 concerns an exclusion zone that will be implemented for 45 minutes on Sunday 27th of July. This is during the Harwich Festival of the Sea for the helicopter rescue display from 15.45 UTC to 16.30 UTC. Full details of the exclusion area can be obtained by going to the HHA website and looking at Notice No24. A similar exclusion zone will also be established of the beach at Felixstowe for an air display taking place also on the 27th July. See Notice to Mariners No26 on the HHA websiste. So looks like the weekend of the 27th is going to be busy!
