Ships Blog 23rd May 2014

Morning and welcome to Fridays Ships Blog. Bank holiday weekend and it looks to be a busy one.  In the harbour we have appox 10 to 15 knots of breeze from the south west. The Landguard gauge is showing 15 to 17 knots so a little bit more wind out to sea. Forecast for the weekend bit of a mixed bag for Saturday with some showers in the morning and quite blustery. Sunday is looking good with plenty of sunshine and Monday overcast but no rain forecast. Don’t forget we have a RNLI collection going on this weekend around the lock. The lifeboat will be tied up on the outside waiting pontoon from 12.00 to 14.00 on Saturday so please give generously if you can. Also this weekend we have two clubs visiting, some thirty five boats from the Blackwater and Colne Sailing clubs on Saturday and eight boats from the Brandy Hole Yacht Club on Sunday. Finally spare a thought for the families of the crew from the sailing boat ‘Cheeki Rafiki’ who have still not been found. Lets hope the American Coastguard find them soon. Have a good weekend!
