Ships Blog 26th June 2014

Morning and welcome to Thursday’s Ships Blog. Weather a little overcast after a very bright start. Mirror calm in the harbour with little wind. Forecast for the weekend not that great with some heavy showers around possibly Friday evening and Saturday. Our intrepid circum navigators on Tante Helena according to their Facebook page have now arrived in Inverness. They are also featured in a recent article published by Practical Boat Owner. Meanwhile Alexandria having crossed the Irish Sea to Wexford Harbour, is today on the way to Dun Laoghaire and a lay over for a few days visiting Dublin etc. Dates for your diary, this Monday 30th coming we have a mini lock closure from 0800 to midday for some maintenance work. 29th August Shotley Point Yacht Club are hosting an RYA talk during the evening with Stuart Carruthers, RYA Cruising Manager and Gus Lewis RYA Legal & Government Affairs Manager. The evening will also be open to the berth holders from Shotley Marina with some wine and a finger buffet afterwards.
