Morning all and welcome to the post bank holiday ‘Ships Blog’. Despite the weather the team were busy over the weekend with some forty two visitors through the lock. The lifeboat ‘Albert Brown’ came over from Harwich and stayed with us for a few hours as part of a fund raising effort by our berth holders Chris and Linda Ball. Visitors were shown over the lifeboat before she departed during the afternoon. They managed to raise over £300 for the RNLI. Current weather very overcast and we have had a lot of rain overnight. How ever the forecast for the coming weekend is looking very promising, fingers crossed! The berth holders BBQ has had a good response and has now reached its limit in terms of numbers. Finally please make a note in your dairy. We are closing the lock on the morning of Tuesday 3rd of June for three hours from 0800. This is so we can change No2 Gate Penstock Ram which appear to have developed a small hydraulic leak.
