Morning and welcome to the Friday Ships Blog. Starting today from 11.30 is the North Sea race which is part of the RORC offshore series. The course starts at Harwich entrance and heads out to the Gallopers, Sunk East etc before turning north and heading for Smiths Knoll. From there they turn to starboard and head to the race finish at Scheveningen, race distance approximately 180 nautical miles. Weather forecast for the weekend from Met for Harwich is largely dry with sunny spells, slight risk of showers. The wind will be mainly north and north east, force 3 to 4. Duty lockmasters this weekend are Marc Gilbert and Richard Whitby. Miriam will be driving the front desk in the Control Tower!
