Ships Blog 28/2/2014

Morning all and welcome to Friday’s Ships Blog. End of February already, where has the month gone? Weather wise its been a mixed bag of sunshine, wind and rain. I am afraid the the weekend doesn’t look too inspiring either. Currently the wind is in the east 14 to 16 knots and quite cool. This mornings tide at 10.50 was half a metre higher than predicted. It should have been four metres but ended up at four and a half covering the floating fenders in the lock! Some dates for your diary, 5th April St Elizabeth Hospice are running their great escape again from the Marina and the Shipwreck in particular. The weekend of the 26th and 27th of April see us hosting the East Coast New Boat Show and just booked for the 5th of July is the Emergency Services Fun day raising money for the Air Ambulance. This last event promises to be a great day with the Fire brigade doing demonstrations along with the RNLI, the police and the Coastguard mud rescue teams. There will be plenty to see and do for every one. Today’s picture is the Pilot Boat St Edmund making her way down our approach channel prior to taking on fuel at the marina. Have a good weekend.
