Afternoon and welcome to the Ships Blog. Despite the challenging weather of the last week we have been busy with visitors both foreign and home based. Several clubs have visited recently including the Northern Rivers Sailing Club on several occasions during their summer cruise. Other clubs visiting include the Old Gaffers Association on the 18th of August with some 40 boats. This makes a welcome return of this fleet evoking memories of the original Classic Boat Festivals that took place here during the early 1990’s. Another date for the diary is Burnham Week 29th August to 5th September, don’t forget Shotley Marina berth holders can have up to 30 days free berthing. Finally our picture is of our summer visitors and their young along the railings of the lock.
