Ships Blog 5th October 2016

Good morning and welcome to the Ships blog. October is here and the season of ‘Autumn mists and mellow fruitfulness’ is with us again. However here at the marina weather wise its a slightly different story. High pressure has got stuck to the north east of the UK blocking the Atlantic depressions and giving us a week of fairly constant easterly winds, hence the gradual fall in the temperature profile. Its been particularly noticeable on the bike in the mornings! There doesn’t appear to be much change in the forecast for next week either. September 17th saw our berth holders celebrate with us at our end of season BBQ. Music was provided by Annika Rand and the ‘Mementos’. Soon the laying up forms will be posted out to all the berth holders. Fill this out with your requirements and get it in early if you want you boat lifted out this Autumn. As usual this year the Workshop/Chandlery will be doing bulk buys on anti fouling etc. The Shipwreck Loft B&B continues to go from strength to strength with regular bookings coming in. Don’t forget there are discounts off the normal prices for berth holders of Shotley Marina.
