Now this is more like it, beautiful morning here in the harbour, wall to wall sunshine and a gentle southerly breeze! Forecast for the weekend looks good especially for Sunday. Saturday there is some doubt with the possibility of a shower or even a thunderstorm rolling up from the south. Last weekend some local ladies from Holbrook competed in a festival of rowing and the sea in Cork Ireland. The event is called the Ocean to City An Rás Mór and celebrates Ireland’s maritime heritage. Our ladies boat ‘Gallister Maid’ sponsored by the marina was named ‘boat of the day’ at the end of the festival. Well done ladies! This morning one of the big ‘E’ class Maersk ships has docked on Trinity 7, the Eleonora Maersk’, she is 398m long and weighs in at 170794 gross tonnes. Finally don’t forget we are now well into the Summer Scrub period so if you want you boat out of the water for nearly half the normal price book now.
