Ships blog 8th June 2022

Welcome to this weeks Ships blog. It looks like wall to wall sunshine this Friday and certainly its going to be getting warmer into the weekend and especially next week. Temperatures forecast here on the coast to be in the early twenties all next week. Don’t forget it is the 60th Annual Barge Match Race on Saturday 9th July, hosted by Pin Mill Sailing Club. Programs are still available here in the Control Tower at £1.00 each. Class A bowsprit will be the first to start from Pin Mill at 10.00 with remaining classes starting at fifteen minutes thereafter, class D being the last at 10.45. Viewing from the public footpath at the north end of the marina will probably be the best. Duty lockmasters are Andy Howard on days and Colin (Biff) Byford covering the nights. Tides on Saturday are, HW 0748am 3.45m and 20.10pm 3.48m, so Neap Tides. To conserve water and maintain levels in the marina the lockmasters will try and ensure that each lock action out or inbound will accommodate as many boats as possible. Please be patient with them. They will try and get you all through as quickly and safely as possible. Have a great weekend!
