Ships Blog December 2024

Ok folks last Ships Blog of 2024. We want to let all our berth holders know some information regarding our upcoming maintenance program.

Firstly, on the 6th January 25 we will commence a five to six week dredging campaign to restore the depth profile in the marina. During this period vessel movements, during the working day, will be severely restricted due to the dredge disposal pipe being laid across the main fairway. If you need access during this time please liaise with the lockmasters in the Control Tower who will be able to advise when you can go in and out of the marina.

Secondly from January 13th 2025 we will be removing the fenders from the Control Tower side of the lock. Again this is for maintenance and refurbishment. Lock closure then commences on 3rd February 2025 for two weeks ending on Friday 14th February. During this time there will be no passage of vessels through the lock.

Finally the ablution block in the marina will also be closed around this time for some much needed cleaning and painting. Facilities will still be available in the main Shipwreck building. All of this work will be completed some time before Easter 2025.

Lastly, a big thank you to all of you who have renewed their berth for next year and a reminder for those who have not, to let us know their intentions for next year before the end of December 24.

It remains for me to say on behalf of all the team to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
