Ships Blog 12th April 2017

Here we are almost halfway through April and Easter upon us already. Last few weeks have been busy here at the marina with people getting their boats ready for the new season. The yard crew are flat out getting boats back in the water for Easter. In the last few days we have had a number of emergency lift outs with fouled propellers and groundings, however there will not be any naming or shaming!! Forecast for bank holiday weekend is looking a mixed bag at the moment. Friday there may be a few showers and Saturday is going to be windy – normal for Easter you might say. Other news. The Harwich Harbour Ferry has been running since the beginning of April and appears to be going from strength to strength. Recent Notices To Mariners will have informed everyone that the seasonal recreational marks have been deployed by HHA. That includes such buoys as the East Cardinal marking the end of the Harwich Shelf. Work continues apace with the new Shotley Lodge development where the retaining wall has now been put in and the ground works and foundations will be completed soon. Happy Easter!
