Ships Blog 9/1/2014

MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERAMorning and welcome to Thursday’s Ships Blog. Its a cold, overcast but very clear day here in the harbour. Blowing about 15 to 20 knots, south westerly. Forecast looks still  cooler for the weekend and into next week, so keep wrapped up warm. The Maersk ship with the damaged containers has now been cleared of broken boxes. Rumour has it that the ship was hit by an eleven metre wave in the Bay of Biscay with several boxes going over the side as well. All quiet in the yard today with the lock master out and about pressure washing the pontoons and clearing up rubbish from the recent storms.
