Great morning here in the harbour with bright sunshine and a very light breeze from the west. Outlook is much the same for tomorrow. The weekend though currently looking a little more unsettled. In the marina today the Pilot Boat St Edmund has had a lift to clear a fouled propeller before fuelling up with diesel. Overnight the entrance channel to the lock has been dredged by the injection dredger ‘Odin’ There may be a few more runs by this dredger to make sure the channel is kept to the required 2M below chart datum. Finally a note for your diary, Good Friday April 18th Shotley Point Yacht Club are holding their annual ‘Grand Boat Jumble’, free admittance and free car parking! (No Trade Stalls please). It will run from 10.00 to 14.00. Good opportunity to grab a bargain or clear some unwanted items from the garage. £5.00 per pitch and all monies raised to go to the RNLI/Help For Heroes.

Morning and welcome to what looks like from the forecast to be a better week weather wise. Plenty of sunshine around for the next couple of days and no major weather systems rolling in from the Atlantic. The wind seems to be going around the clock over the next few days as well. Still feeling cool with the wind  keeping the temperature in the single figures. Pilot boats St Christopher and St Edmund have been in through the lock to collect fuel this morning. Andy and Craig have been busy this morning launching several boats including our berth holder ‘Winters Moon’, a Broome Motor boat. High water today is at 13.09 and the predicted height is 4.26M, so top of Springs.

Morning all and welcome to Friday’s Ships Blog. End of February already, where has the month gone? Weather wise its been a mixed bag of sunshine, wind and rain. I am afraid the the weekend doesn’t look too inspiring either. Currently the wind is in the east 14 to 16 knots and quite cool. This mornings tide at 10.50 was half a metre higher than predicted. It should have been four metres but ended up at four and a half covering the floating fenders in the lock! Some dates for your diary, 5th April St Elizabeth Hospice are running their great escape again from the Marina and the Shipwreck in particular. The weekend of the 26th and 27th of April see us hosting the East Coast New Boat Show and just booked for the 5th of July is the Emergency Services Fun day raising money for the Air Ambulance. This last event promises to be a great day with the Fire brigade doing demonstrations along with the RNLI, the police and the Coastguard mud rescue teams. There will be plenty to see and do for every one. Today’s picture is the Pilot Boat St Edmund making her way down our approach channel prior to taking on fuel at the marina. Have a good weekend.

MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERAAfternoon and welcome to the Ships Blog. Great day here in the harbour and the marina. First good dose of sunshine we have had for some time. However tomorrow looks like its back to rain and wind again. Weekend looking ok at the moment. Bizarrely enough there is the possibly some snow  for tomorrow in the west of the region! Since last Friday there has been a pile of wood chips on the Parkstone Quay, which have been on fire. Whilst the fire brigade have attended it has largely been left to the people at Parkstone Quay to gradually  monitor and bring it under control. The smoke at last seems to be diminishing. The ex pilot boat ‘Haven Hobby’ was launched today after an annual refit ready to take on the role of Harwich Harbour Patrol Launch.
